Psalm 119

I feel like I could read this Psalm forever, over and over again.

I always feel insanely distracted when I read my Bible, but the new method I’ve been trying has been working so well! I am actually allowing the Holy Spirit to give me spiritual insight and wisdom and I am actually understanding the text! Basically I have YouBible on my cell phone, so I have been reading along to passages that have audio, and the audio that is in place on the app is this man’s voice that is SO clear and crisp. It is essentially subliminal commentary BECAUSE the inflections in his tone perfectly describe the sentences, whether they are questions or not, loving promises, etc. So I took this further, and based on the highlightability of the app (take pencil crayons for paper bible versions), I decided to code all COMMANDS- PINK, PROMISES-YELLOW, and all CHARACTERISTICS of God as ORANGE. Then I pause and re read passages I have questions to, or want to meditate on. It’s been working!! đŸ˜€

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord.
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—
3 they do no wrong
but follow his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.
8 I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.

9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, Lord;
teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.

Pray out this Psalm to God!!

Hand-picked moment.

I have a verse box I created years ago, with verses I liked that I felt I should memorize to use in times of temptation, etc.

Today my friend and I were hanging out and I just said, “PICK A VERSEEEE” and she picked this one. Needless to say, it’s a very convicting verse regardless of where you are in your journey to overcoming this addiction.

1 Thessalonians 4: 3-8

It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.
